Pain-free, more comfortable, aero
"I've since done about 120 miles pain free (and quicker probably due to the more comfortable position which is also slightly more aero.) So I'm very pleased."
Had a great bike fit at Precision Bicycle Works. Now I'd had a fit about 5 years ago with a Retul so had an idea what to expect. I'd made some changes to the components on the bike etc. and was getting some hamstring and lower back pain so decided another fit was in order. The shop I had the original fit done at were no longer doing Retul and didn't want to re-fit me (which was a bit strange...)

So went to see Dave C on a Saturday afternoon and 5 hours later we were done. My original fit was about 2 hours so the thoroughness of the fit was very different... Dave is a Cyclefit trained fitter and also a trained mechanic. All in all, great value and walked out with a much better fitting bicycle.

I've since done about 120 miles pain free (and quicker probably due to the more comfortable position which is also slightly more aero.) So I'm very pleased.

More than marginal difference
"I would highly recommend these bespoke footbeds to anyone who cycles regularly on or off road as these have made more than “marginal difference” to my cycling."
Dave fitted some specially made footbeds (custom insoles) for my cycling shoes and the difference was very noticeable. My feet, ankles, knees and hips are now aligned with the bike, pointing in the right direction and I feel more at one with the bike.
I would highly recommend these bespoke footbeds to anyone who cycles regularly on or off road as these have made more than “marginal difference” to my cycling. During the fitting process I also learnt from Dave how my foot works too!

Matter of millimeters
"Dave's bike fitting is an absolute must. It can be a matter of millimetres of adjustments that are required, which make all the difference to performance and improving comfort."
If you're serious about cycling or have muscular/ skeletal problems, Dave's bike fitting is an absolute must. It can be a matter of millimetres of adjustments that are required, which make all the difference to performance and improving comfort on the bike.

Dave is passionate in getting to the bottom of why discomfort occurs. His knowledge and dedication in understanding cycling bio mechanics has resolved it every time for me. His fittings are very personalised, as a Pilates teacher I can tell you how important this is as no one body is the same and we all have a range of bio-mechanical variation and challenges for Dave to overcome!

Having a frame that fits your body type allows the major joints; the shoulders, hips, knees and ankles to work within a range that's harmonious to one another whilst gaining maximum performance and comfort with the least amount of energy spent.

Dave is incredibly precise with his measurements and adjustments, he spends time in making sure it's right for you with a thorough follow up review process.

Highly recommended and a lovely person to spend time with whilst being fitted!

Switched to the S-WORKS
"I switched, for the first time since the fit and re-build, to the S-Works: the results have been spectacular."
"I thought you might like to know that after two solid months on the winter bike, last Sunday I switched, for the first time since the fit and re-build to the S-Works. The results have been spectacular. On Sunday I PB’ ed on Coome Gibbet 30 mile into a 50 mile ride also leaving my mate who represented team GB at 1985 world champs at rowing, hanging on my back wheel for dear life.

Yesterday I PB’ ed on Whichcurch and Streatley hill on the same 35 mile ride along with a cluster of other PB’s.

Still lots of work to do before Etape de Tour in the Alps in July but with more effort I think I should do well.

Just to show what a correct fitting bike and lots of training can do."

Phil's feedback
"I like buying nice kit as you know but the money I spent on the bike fit you provided is probably the biggest return for my cash that I have experienced. I am faster, more comfortable and less likely to have injury than before."
Thanks for the great job you did on the bikes and the fitting you provided. I thought you would welcome some feedback.

I have only used the winter bike you built up for me as it not nice enough to go out on the good bike. The first week I had the winter bike I did some light training although did mange to go up Streatley hill so not as light as I should have. Last Sunday I did a sportive which was 65 miles with 4000 feet of climbing and went as hard as I could, if such a thing are possible in winter with ice on the road and strong winds.

Bike fit - I was nervous about the saddle height. The three light rides I did before the sportive were critical as I could feel my body and especially my knees getting used to the new set up. When it came to the sportive I could give full output up hills without any discomfort but better than that I felt light on the pedals, helped by the adjustments you made to the cleats on my shoes. My buddy was struggling to stay on my back wheel when normally it is the other way round.

Handlebars - These are brilliant. So much more comfort, giving me the feeling that my lungs can expand for ever.

Alignment - The bike fit you did especially the adjustment to the cleats really feels great and I can feel the improved efficiency. My hamstrings felt a little tight and I need to do more stretching work on them but fatigue on the bike was minimal and only kicked in during the last 10 miles of the 65 mile ride. Definitely better.

Comfort - The comfort on the saddle was a vast improvement. I felt steady as a rock on the saddle, no soreness, no sliding about and I didn’t think about my backside during the ride which is a nice change. This coupled with the other changes you made gave me the focus to ride the sportive managing the weather and other competitors rather then thinking about various parts of my body and how sore they where.

I like buying nice kit as you know but the money I spent on the bike fit you provided is probably the biggest return for my cash that I have experienced. I am faster, more comfortable and less likely to have injury then before. What more can I say apart from thank you.

Cheers,
Phil
